About Us

The Louisville Photographic Society (LPS) was founded in 1941 to promote interest in photography in Louisville and the surrounding area.

Through monthly meetings and its two summer seminars, LPS endeavors to aid and benefit photographers of the Louisville area, using a forum where guest speakers or LPS members present photographic topics of interest and/or support discussions to educate its members. Another aspect of LPS is the opportunity to showcase members’ work through monthly competitions and gallery shows throughout the local community.

LPS members may participate in photographic outings sponsored by the club or organized by the members themselves.  LPS also supports member involvement in: The Kentucky State Fair, March for Babies, gallery shows, and other community service projects.
