August 9-10, 2025
Kentucky State Fair Exhibit Set-Up & Check-In – LPS Members volunteer to help set-up the photography exhibit and check-in all qualifying entries. Please contact Barb Harris to volunteer!

Louisville Photo Biennial – LPS Members have been invited to exhibit members’ photographs at the Bon Air Library.

LPS Day at the Fair – LPS has been invited to showcase its club at the Fair. More details coming soon.

Kentucky State Fair Pick-Up and Tear Down -LPS Members volunteer to help facilitate picking up entries and clean up/tear down the photography exhibit area. Please contact Barb Harris to volunteer!

Louisville Photo Biennial –Flower Power – this is a women-only Biennial show to include only floral-themed photos. Photos must be matted and framed by Thursday, August 28th and the show will run mid-September through mid-November.

Louisville Photo Biennial – Home Sweet Home – showing the uniqueness of places and experiences available to those who live in Southern Indiana and Louisville. This show is open to all current LPS Members. Photos must be matted and framed by Thursday, August 28th and the show will run mid-September through mid-November.

Other Items to Keep in Mind
- The LPS Board meets quarterly – Typically these meetings are in January, March/April, June, and September/October.
- February – The monthly meeting is an Awards night. We announce the winners of the Year-End and Photo Book Competitions as well as recognizing various members for other special awards.
- July and August – No regular meetings, but there are special outings/workshops/etc. for current LPS members only. We also volunteer to help with all aspects of the photography exhibit at the Kentucky State Fair.
- September – At this month’s meeting, LPS members submit suggestions for the next year’s competition categories.
- October – Members vote on competition categories for next year. Annual dues are due. All winning prints from the current year, including Honorable Mentions, are turned-in for Year-End Competition. (Digitals do not need to be turned in.)
- November – If you haven’t paid your dues yet, please do so. Photo Books are due for the annual Photo Book Competition. All winning prints from the current year, including Honorable Mentions, are turned-in for Year-End Competition. (Digitals do not need to be turned in.)
- December – If you haven’t paid your dues yet, please do so. Photo Books are due for the annual Photo Book Competition. Last chance to bring in all winning prints from the current year, including Honorable Mentions, for Year-End Competition. (Digitals do not need to be turned in.) The program for this month’s meeting is a competition of a 3-minute video prepared by members. The videos and the monthly competitions are voted on by members. Winners of the Year-End and Photo Book Competitions will be announced at the February meeting.
