Membership Information

MEMBERSHIP IN THE LOUISVILLE PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY

NOTE – For members renewing their membership, please see below.

Purpose:   The Louisville Photographic Society was founded in 1941 to promote interest in photography and to encourage active participation in all its aspects. The purpose of the Louisville Photographic Society is to aid and benefit photographers of Louisville and vicinity, and to make available to people of the community an opportunity to view our members’ work.

Membership:  Membership is open to all persons and their families who are interested in learning more about photography and participating in photographic activities.

Beginning in 2022, dues will be $45 / year for individuals, $15 for spouses, and $10 for students through age 22.  Renewing members can pay by PayPal, but there is a slight added charge when using Paypal.

FOR NEW MEMBERS ONLY:  Dues per person for new members only is pro-rated for the fall, payable by cash or check.  Dues for Sept = $16, dues for Oct = $12, dues for Nov = $8, dues for Dec = $4.
Dues renewal for these members will be due January 1, and will be at the normal rate.  Renewals can be paid by PayPal or by check.

Meetings:  Meetings are held monthly on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM.

Competitions:  There are competitions held every month except in July and August, when there is usually a photographic seminar or outing.  Competitions are offered to everyone, but you must be a member to compete.  Categories for competitions in an upcoming year are chosen by the members in the fall.  The are two divisions in which a member can compete:  Amateur and Advanced.  (Note:  These are not levels of membership.) NOTE FOR MEMBERS:

Members may renew their Annual Membership with PayPal. (You must have a PayPal account.) NOTE:  THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL TRANSACTION FEE  FOR USING THIS METHOD.  (Of course, you don’t have the cost of a stamp, envelope, etc.) 

Dues renewals can also be paid by mailing a check  to:  Louisville Photographic Society,  1335 Castlewood Ave., Louisville, KY 40204. (When renewing dues by mail, the transaction fee does not apply. Dues when paying by check: For one person = $45; Couples = $60; Student = $10)

You must pay your dues before you can compete.

For PayPal, choose one of the options from the drop-down menu.  The transaction fee has been applied.  Please also fill in the name/s for renewing member/s.
PayPal is for existing members for renewing dues only.
